R&D Office

The Research & Development Office is part of TAyside medical Science Centre (TASC). It works closely with the other TASC Units such as Tayside Clinical Trials Unit (TCTU), Tayside Tissue Bank (TTB), Clinical Research Centre (CRC), with the University of Dundee Research & Innovation Services (RIS) and Research Finance Offices, and with NHS Tayside Pharmacy and other NHS Support departments. The East of Scotland Research Ethics Service is co-located in TASC.

The R&D office has many roles such as providing advice on research development and governance, project registration, University of Dundee & NHS Support cost calculation (at the funding application stage), sponsorship, contracts and site agreements, generic and local review for NHS R&D approval, QA, pharmacovigilance and GCP monitoring.

When you are preparing to submit a grant application or in discussion about alternative funding, you need to register your study with TASC and with RIS using the Project Registration Form (PRF). Research cost calculations will be carried out by TASC and RIS at this stage. If you are planning a study which is funded internally or which is unfunded, contact the Research Governance Team to discuss.
